Walter Hörth

Born in Tulln, Lower Austria, Walter Hörth studied business administration and then spent three years as an assistant auditor in the auditing industry. He subsequently switched to banking, where he worked for eight years in a credit rating department assessing commercial customers. Walter Hörth spent the last five years working at a newly established subsidiary of the Province of Lower Austria. His job there revolved around accounting and around handling the provincial grants for universities of applied sciences located in Lower Austria. He brings this expertise to his current position as FGÖ Business Manager, a post to which he was recently named.

"Health promotion and prevention will become increasingly significant economically, because they are effective ways of boosting the efficiency of the health care system. I view my work at FGÖ as a chance to help people see health and economics as mutually complementary and not or not only as opposites."
