The graduate psychologist and sociologist has been responsible for building up and developing FGÖ activities on the elderly since March 2006. He is also coaching two model projects in this area and is the FGÖ representative in the international networks IUHPE and INHPF.

Youth and health – two things that fortunately go hand in hand for most people! Health awareness – something for the middle aged? Treatment and rehabilitation – a subject for elderly people? We have to shake up these set ways of thinking. Quality of life should not be a privilege reserved for young people or the better off.  One of society’s central tasks is to give people opportunities to live their lives in an optimum way no matter what phase of life they are in. That also means encouraging people who are currently disadvantaged and little noticed and promoting their ideas and their self-awareness. We all benefit from making aging a more positive experience, from a more active life for the elderly. After all, we all want to live a long time, don’t we?
