Ingrid Kiefer

Dr. Kiefer completed a special program of studies in nutritional science at the University of Vienna and the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna. She has been a registered health psychologist since 1993. She has been working since 1988 at the Institute for Social Medicine at the Vienna University of Medicine, concentrating mainly on nutritional epidemiology, prevention of nutrition-associated illnesses, nutrition consulting and weight reduction. The nutrition expert has also written or co-authored numerous guides on these subjects. She has been on the Advisory Committee at FGÖ since May 2004. Asked what motivated her to take on this new task, Dr. Kiefer said:

"Health promotion and prevention are among the most essential societal tasks of the future and are also crucial issues for me personally. Suitable steps in the area of nutrition can substantially reduce the morbidity and mortality rates for nutrition-associated illnesses."
