Horst Richard Noack
Univ.-Prof. Dr., Institute for Social Medicine and Epidemiology at the Medical University of Graz
Richard Noack is a professor and specialist in social medicine, health science and public health. After completing his studies in Germany and the US, he conducted research and development projects in Germany and Switzerland, taught and built up, among others, the department for health research at the Institute for Social and Preventive Medicine in Bern. Since 1992 Professor Noack has been chairman of the Institute for Social Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Graz, which has been part of the Graz University of Medicine since 2003. Prof. Noack is vice president of the Austrian Public Health Association and president-elect of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). He has been a member of the FGÖ Project Advisory Committee since 1998 and is also the head of the university-level public health program at the Graz University of Medicine. His scientific foci are social-epidemiological research, health system research and health promotion and prevention.
